Full Face M-48 MOD-1 Diver Specialty (OC, Rebreather)

These Programs have been designed to provide qualified divers with specialty training in the necessary procedures, knowledge and skills

to safely dive with a full face mask and the Kirby-Morgan M-48 Mod 1 Hollis Modular POD Mask.

How deep can you dive with the IANTD Full Face M-48 MOD-1 Diver (OC, SCR, CCR) Program?

No dives may be conducted to depths greater than diver previous certification level.

What do you need to enroll in this program?

  • Open Circuit
    • Must be a qualified IANTD Open Water or any Entry Level Diver equivalent.
    • Must be a minimum of 12 years of age for Junior Diver qualification with a parent or guardian authorization, OR; Must be a minimum of 15 years of age for Diver qualification with a parent or guardian authorization, OR; Must be a minimum or 18 years of age without guardian approval.
  • Rebreather
    • Must be a qualified IANTD Recreational Rebreather Diver or any Entry Level Diver equivalent.
    • Must be a minimum of 17 years of age with a parent or guardian authorization, OR; Must be a minimum or 18 years of age without guardian approval.

What is the minimum materials requirements?

  • For Rebreather: IANTD Recreational Rebreather Full Face M-48 MOD-1 Student Kit
  • For Open Circuit: IANTD Full Face M-48 MOD-1 Diver Student Kit.

What this program must include?

  • Confined Water Sessions

A International Association of Nitrox & Technical Divers foi fundada em 1985 para atender às necessidades de muitos mergulhadores. Nessa época o uso de misturas gasosas para o mergulho e gases de descompresão estava limitado, oficialmente, aos militares e aos mergulhadores comerciais.
Em 1985 Dick Rutkowski aposentou-se do cargo de supervisor de mergulho da National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) e, juntamente com outros líderes da comunidade de mergulho, fundou a International Association of Nitrox Divers. O objetivo era apresentar os benefícios do Nitrox para diversos cenários de mergulho e ensinar o seu uso seguro em mergulhos recreativos e descompressivos.
Em 1992 sob a liderença de Tom Mount, a organização cresceu para se tornar a principal agência de treinamento de mergulho técnico do mundo, oferecendo cursos sobre todos os aspectos do mergulho esportivo. O nome foi então mudado para International Association of Nitrox & Technical Divers, IANTD, para melhor refletir a ênfase no mergulho técnico
