Cavern Divemaster (OC, Rebreather)

This Program is designed to extend the diver’s knowledge to safely guide professional cavern tours

of non-cavern certified divers (maximum 4 divers) in the overhead environment. Focus of this program is on safety, conservation, professionalism and preservation.

How deep can you dive with the IANTD Cavern Divemaster (OC, SCR, CCR) Program?

  • No dives may be conducted to depths greater than 130fsw.

What do you need to enroll in this program?

  • Open Circuit
    • IANTD Divemaster or equivalent
    • IANTD Cave Diver or equivalent.
    • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
    • Proof of a minimum of 60 logged cavern dives.
    • NOTE: A minimum of 30 logged dives of the 60 were cavern dives
  • Rebreather
    • Must be a qualified IANTD Recreational Rebreather Divemaster or equivalent.
    • Must be a qualified IANTD Rebreather Cavern Diver or equivalent.
    • CPR or equivalent
    • Oxygen Provider or equivalent
    • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
    • Proof of a minimum of 60 logged dives and 50 hours on the rebreather to be used.
    • NOTE: A minimum of 30 logged dives of the 60 were rebreatber cavern dives.

What is the minimum materials requirements?

  • For Rebreather: IANTD Divemaster Student Kit
  • For Open Circuit: IANTD Divemaster Student Kit.

What this program must include?

  • Academic Sessions
  • Confined Water Sessions
  • Open Water Sessions

A International Association of Nitrox & Technical Divers foi fundada em 1985 para atender às necessidades de muitos mergulhadores. Nessa época o uso de misturas gasosas para o mergulho e gases de descompresão estava limitado, oficialmente, aos militares e aos mergulhadores comerciais.
Em 1985 Dick Rutkowski aposentou-se do cargo de supervisor de mergulho da National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) e, juntamente com outros líderes da comunidade de mergulho, fundou a International Association of Nitrox Divers. O objetivo era apresentar os benefícios do Nitrox para diversos cenários de mergulho e ensinar o seu uso seguro em mergulhos recreativos e descompressivos.
Em 1992 sob a liderença de Tom Mount, a organização cresceu para se tornar a principal agência de treinamento de mergulho técnico do mundo, oferecendo cursos sobre todos os aspectos do mergulho esportivo. O nome foi então mudado para International Association of Nitrox & Technical Divers, IANTD, para melhor refletir a ênfase no mergulho técnico
